Impairment Without Disability - 9th Annual Conference in St. Paul, Minnesota
on October 6-7, 2016.

Impairment Without Disability is a collaborative organization dedicated to the health, function, and well-being of all individuals who have, or who have experienced, potentially disabling impairments. The goal of the conference is to foster an educational environment in which all stakeholders in the disability process can come together to learn and share their common knowledge, experiences and goals, and work together to improve and eliminate unnecessary disability.

Proceeds from the conference will be donated to the Spine Foundation to support the Spine 10 X 25 Initiative which has set the goal of reducing spine-related disability in the United States by 10% by the year 2025 by instituting greater societal awareness, creating a coalition of vested medical and nonmedical stakeholders, and establishing a national imperative through educational efforts on Capitol Hill.

2nd Annual Spine 10 x 25 Summit: Technology Update in Chicago, Illinois - July 15, 2016

The Spine Foundation, the Spine 10 X 25 Coalition, and international experts discussed the #1 cause of disability in the United States: spine-related impairment. Addressing this public health issue has become an urgent national imperative. The Spine 10 X 25 Summit was held at the Spine Education & Research Center (SERC) located on the campus of NASS in Burr Ridge, Illinois.

Spine 10 X 25 Initiative Spine 10 X 25 Coalition Task Force Individual Faculty Slides


Spine 10 x 25 Research Summit in Chicago, Illinois - July 18, 2015

This legacy event, featured a faculty of world-class thought leaders, and launched the Spine 10 x 25, an initiative that will lead to a 10% reduction in U.S. spine-related disability by the year 2025. Medical and non-medical stakeholders including providers, researchers, corporate executives, economists and other thought leaders discussed the #1 cause of disability in the United States: spine-related impairment.

The primary purpose of this meeting was establish a coalition task force to lead the charge for the Spine 10 x 25 Initiative. This event inspired new thinking on this critical public health issue and generated a research agenda to drive innovation and a much needed paradigm shift.
